Badwell Ash is a small, compact village and parish, 4 miles north from Elmswell station, and 10 north east from Bury St Edmunds, in the Western division of the county, Blackbourn Hundred.
The church of St Mary is a handsome flint building, thoroughly restored in 1868.The register dates from 1559.
